Ignition Repair

I started with Mallory Ignition in 1982, and have designed all of their electronic ignition systems and associated accessories during that time. When Mallory was purchased by Mr. Gasket in 1996, I also became responsible for the ACCEL line of electronic ignitions and accessories.

I can repair most types of Mallory and ACCEL-branded ignition, including certain versions of the CT-Pro ignition, EXCEPT those that are encapsulated. It is very difficult and time-consuming to try and remove these from the encapsulation, so a replacement ignition is the best solution. Additionally, I also repair the electronics of the 12 and 24 series electronic distributors. At this time, I cannot do mechanical repairs on these products.

Another service I offer is repairing and upgrading (by adding more substantial mounting systems to the Hall sensors) Mallory/Edelbrock Pro-Flow electronic distributors and ACCEL-DFI Dual-Sync distributors. The cost for this $100, plus parts and return shipping/handling. NOTE: I do not, at this time, have the parts or tools to do mechanical repairs on these distributors. If your distributor has mechanical damage, it should be sent to System 1 Pro Ignition, in Tulare, CA, for repair. They are the officially authorized Mallory/ACCEL distributor repair facility.

When you contact me via email, I will send you a shipping address. As far as payment, I prefer PayPal, but I can also use  Venmo, and I will not ship a part back until the payment service has indicated fund transfer. As an alternate, I can accept a cashier's check or money order, but since processing these requires additional time and travel, I will add  5% fee if you choose that. In addition, the part will not be shipped until the check is cleared. Return shipping cost is dependent upon your choice of shipping speed.

I try to ship all repairs within 2 days of receipt of the part, but cannot guarantee this, especially if needed parts have to be ordered, or I am out of town. I will email you with an invoice when the repair is completed.

When you email me, PLEASE include the part number of the product needing repair, and as much information as possible as to what preceded the failure - for example, "It don't work" doesn't help much, but, "I was just driving on the highway, and the engine started missing and stumbling, and finally just cut out altogether. I pulled over, tried re-starting, but no luck. After sitting for 1/2 hour, I tried again, and the engine started right up, and I was able to get home, where it then died in the driveway.", tells me a lot about what might be wrong. Any information that helps me to resolve your problem more quickly is appreciated!

NOTE: ACCEL/DFI fuel injection systems were designed and supported by a separate division, which has been closed down for several years. At this point in time, I believe that MSD Performance is handling DFI-related service, since MSD Performance bought ACCEL Performance at the beginning of 2015. Also, Holley Performance recently (mid-2015) purchased MSD Performance, and as of this website update, the particulars of support are still being worked out.
